ថ្ងៃមួយសត្វទន្សាយស បាននឹងកំពុងដើរសំដៅទៅកាន់ចំការក្នុងព្រៃ ដើម្បីរកការ៉ុត ឆី ស្រាប់តែពេលនោះ វាបានជួបនិងសត្វអណ្តើកមួយក្បាល កំពុងតែវាគើមៗ។ វាអស់សំណើចណាស់ គាត់សើចឌឺអោយសត្វអណ្តើកដែលដើរយឺតណាស់។

ការប្រណាំក៏បានចាប់ផ្តើម នៅក្នុងព្រៃ តាមផ្លូវលំមួយក្បែរអូរដែលមានដំរីជាសាក្សី។ ដំបូងសត្វទន្សាយធ្វើជារត់ លេងៗ យឺតៗ ព្រោះវាដឹងច្បាស់ថា អណ្តើកដែលវាគើមៗ នោះគ្មានផ្លូវរត់ឈ្នះខ្លួនឡើយ។ ទន្សាយចាប់ផ្តើមធុញ និងការរត់ចាំអណ្តើក ណាមួយរាងឃ្លានផង ក៏បានបន្ថែមល្បឿន រត់ទៅរកបន្លែឆីសិន។ ទន្សាយបានសម្សាក ក្រោមដើមឈើធំមួយ តាមផ្លូវរត់ប្រណាំង ហើយកំពុងឆី ការ៉ុតយ៉ាងរំភើយ អណ្តើបានវាកាត់មុខវាគើមៗ តែទន្សាយមិនខ្វល់ទេ ថែមទាំងប្រាប់អណ្តើកអោយខំរត់អោយលឿនទៅ។ទន្សាយក៏បានដាក់ខ្លួនដេកមួយស្របក់។ ភ្ញើកឡើង រាងជ្រុល ក៏ខំរត់តាមអណ្តើក ប៉ុន្តែយឺតពេលហើយ អណ្តើកបានវាដល់ទីមុនបាត់ទៅហើយ។
គំនិតអប់រំក្នុងរឿងនេះគឺ៖ សូមកុំឲ្យមានអំនួតលើខ្លួនឯងពេក។
English Version
The rabbit is an animal that runs fast and is very proud. It likes to eat vegetables, especially carrots. The turtle, on the other hand, is an animal that is slow, gentle, and calm, making it pleasant to be around.
One day, the white rabbit was walking toward a garden in the forest to look for carrots to eat. Suddenly, it met a turtle moving along very slowly. The rabbit found this very funny and mocked the turtle for being so slow.
Unable to endure the teasing, the turtle challenged the rabbit to a race. The rabbit could hardly believe its own ears and said, “If that’s the case, tomorrow we will find an elephant to be a witness to this race.”
The next day, the rabbit, the turtle, and the elephant gathered under a large tree to discuss the race.
The race then began in the forest along a small path next to a stream, with the elephant acting as the witness. At first, the rabbit ran playfully and slowly, because it was confident that the slow-moving turtle had no chance of beating it. The rabbit soon became bored of waiting and also felt hungry, so it sped up and ran off to eat some vegetables first.
The rabbit rested under a large tree along the race path and happily ate carrots. Meanwhile, the turtle slowly passed by and went ahead, but the rabbit did not care. It even told the turtle to try to run faster. Then the rabbit lay down and took a short nap. When it woke up and realized what had happened, it hurried to chase after the turtle, but it was too late—the turtle had already reached the finish line first.
The moral of this story is: Do not be too proud of yourself.
